ALISO VIEJO, Calif — Ben Brown earned All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) First Team honors, and Stephen Blaauw and Parker Jory were selected to the Second Team as the trio represented California Lutheran University men's water polo on all-conference teams.
The 2021 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Volleyball teams were announced Wednesday following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.
Brown (Chula Vista, Calif.) was named First Team All-SCIAC for the third time in his career. The senior led the Kingsmen and was the only member of the 50-50-50 club in the conference. The left-attacker tied for fourth in goals with 57 and led the conference with 67 assists and 53 steals. He totaled 124 points, highest in the conference, with the next closest player at 78. He added 14 drawn ejections and seven field blocks.
Blaauw (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) earned his first All-SCIAC honor and landed on the second team. The senior topped the conference with 25 field blocks and was third with 42 steals. He added 24 goals, with a shooting percentage of .471. He also tallied 23 drawn ejections and had 10 assists.
Parker Jory (Stockton, Calif.) garnered Second Team for the first All-SCIAC honor of his career. The senior was fourth in the team in goals with 40. He added 29 assists, the second-most on the team, totaling the second-most points on the teams with 67. The main sprinter for the Kingsmen, he also totaled 14 steals and 10 drawn ejections.
The Kingsmen have clinched a berth in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Cal Lutheran will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday at 3 p.m.
