Kingsmen Ranked No. 13 in National Poll

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The new National Volleyball Association (NVA)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men's Division III Coaches Poll is out and California Lutheran University has entered the rankings at No. 13. 

It is the third year, since the program started back up in 2016-17, that the team has received a national ranking. The Kingsmen reached as high as 12th in 2018 and were No. 8 in the 2019 preseason poll. 

The Purple and Gold earned two top-10 wins over the weekend as they defeated No. 9 Marymount and No. 10 St. John Fisher.

Ben Weber leads the way for the Kingsmen at 2.91 kills per set. Logan Marks is next with 2.25, Jake Tucker has 2.21 and Sean Fitzpatrick has 2.03. 

The Kingsmen have three setters that make the offense work. Taylor Marks dishes out 6.95 assists per set with Seamus McDonagh at 5.34 and Jacob Cudiamat at 4.69. 

Eli Moore leads the defense with 2.69 digs per set and seven more Kingsmen average more than one. Borys Horiuk leads the way at the net with 1.00 blocks per set. 

The Kingsmen are back in action on Monday at North central with a game at 5 p.m. PST.
