Rowe earns First-Ever National Player of the Week for Kingsmen Volleyball

LEXINGTON, Ky.Patrick Rowe was named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III National Player of the Week announced Tuesday afternoon. Rowe is the first Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week in program history.

Playing five matches in four consecutive days, Rowe (Long Beach, Calif.) played an instrumental role in leading the Kingsmen to a perfect week. The junior outside hitter notched double-digit kill totals in all but one match. He had three performances where he hit over .400 (.476 against St. John Fisher, .462 against Emmanuel, 423 against JWU). He was just one dig short of a double-double in the sweep over the Wildcats while recording a season-high 15 kills. Going an unblemished 5-0 at the Cal-Lu-Fornia Classic makes this the program's longest winning streak of the season.

The Kingsmen defeated No. 15 Rivier (3-1) and swept St. John Fisher, Adrian, Emmanuel and Johnson & Wales.

Each week Sports Imports and the AVCA recognize deserving student-athletes at the collegiate level who have demonstrated outstanding play on the court throughout the week of competition. A Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week is named for the different NCAA Divisions in court volleyball during both the men's and women's season.
