Kingsmen Finish No. 12 on AVCA Final Poll

INDIANAPOLIS — After only the program's third season, the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen were named the No. 12 team in the nation in 2018 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Tuesday afternoon.

The Kingsmen finished the season on a seven-game win streak, allowing their opponents just one set since March 25. The late run brought their season to 19-8 overall, a .704 win percentage. They averaged 11.89 kills per set, hitting .276, and 2.33 blocks per set.

Cal Lutheran entered the rankings for the first time on April 4 at No. 14 after sweeping their spring break trip to the east coast and taking down No. 15 at the time, Endicott. A week later, the team moved up to No. 13 after sweeping Moorpark College.

Also in the top 15 are 2018 opponents No. 13 Stevenson, No. 10 Santa Cruz and No. 9 Benedictine. NCAA Division III Champion, Springfield, locks in at No. 1 with a 31-2 record.
