Cox Earns SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran's Evan Cox was honored with the men's track award.

Competing in his first meet this season, Cox ( Ventura, Calif.) impressed by winning the 400-meter hurdles and taking third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Pomona-Pitzer Collegiate All Comers this past Saturday.

His time in the 400-meter hurdles, 53.50 seconds, moved him up on the program's Top 10 List and he currently sits third. In the 110-meter hurdles, he crossed the finish line with 15.28. 

The sophomore earned his first Track Athlete of the Week award this season and the second of his career. He also garnered the award as a freshman. 

Evan has worked extremely hard and this is only the beginning for him this season," said track & field head coach Matt Lea. "He is going to do exciting and big things this season."
