Cox Named SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — For the first time in his Cal Lutheran career, freshman Evan Cox was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at this past weekend's SCIAC Multi-Dual No. 3.

Matching up against Chapman, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Occidental, the Ventura-native took home the 400-meter hurdles title with a lifetime personal record of 54.38 seconds, and the fifth best time in program history.

He additionally nabbed second in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.63 seconds, and later joined junior Obasi Dees, Chris Brodnax and Trent Mosley for the 4x100 relay, where the crew finished in second at 42.23 seconds.

Cox and the rest of the Cal Lutheran Track and Field team now set their focus toward the SCIAC Championships on April 27-28 in Claremont, California.
