Kingsmen Seal Two Wins In Double Header

ORLANDO, Florida, - Kingsmen tennis tabbed two wins in their double header against Goucher and Grinnell.

The Purple and Gold defeated Goucher 7-2 in the first match of the morning. All three doubles teams won in convincing fashion. Darvel Lossangoye and Ryan Murphy started the day off with an 8-6 victory.

Parker McBride and Aaron Moylan followed up the first duo with an 8-1 win themselves. Right behind them with an identical 8-1 score was Jacob Bear and Griffin Biernat.

Lossangoye took his singles match winning 6-1 and 6-1. Biernat stepped into the two spot for singles and came out with a win himself. It was a hard-fought battle between Biernat and the two-spot singles player from Goucher but Biernat prevailed winning 7-6 and 7-5.

Shawn Rothermel had the win at the number three spot with a 6-4 and 6-1 score. Behind Rothermel was Ben Vincze with another win. Vincze buried his opponent 6-1 and 6-2.

This completed the wins for the Kingsmen in match one.

Game two against Grinnell was tougher for the Kingsmen as they started out with only taking one of the doubles matches. McBride and Moylan were the undefeated doubles team today with the 8-2 victory.

Lossangoye tied it up 2-2 with his 6-3 and 6-2 singles win. The clinching match for the Purple and Gold came from Biernat in the three spot for the singles. He lost the first set but fought back to take the second two and the match win.

Rothermel tabbed another singles win 7-6 and 6-1. To finish off the match was Dominik Stefanov with an easy 6-1 and 6-3 win.

The Kingsmen turn around and get going bright and early with a 7 am start time.
