Kingsmen Take on Stags in SCIAC Semifinals

CLAREMONT, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's tennis team qualified for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament which begins Friday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

The Kingsmen are the No. 4 seed and take on top-seed and host, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The dual is set for Friday at 3 p.m. The Stags won the natchup during the season with a score of 9-0. 

The winner of CLU and CMS will face either No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer or No. 3 Caltech. The Championship dual is set for Saturday and hosted by the highest remaining seed. The start time has yet to be determined.

CMS won the regular season title and went undefeated in the SCIAC at 7-0. Pomona-Pitzer was next with their only loss coming to the Stags. Caltech is third and went 5-2. Cal Lutheran rounds out the top-four and is 3-4. 

The Kingsmen's playoff hopes came down to the final dual of SCIAC play. CLU took on Whittier with the final spot in the tournament going to the winner. The Violet and Gold took the match 7-2 and advanced to the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
