Kingsmen Fall Flat Against Stags

CLAREMONT, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran Kingsmen battled against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags Saturday afternoon, but the maroon and gold took the fight 9-0.

On court one, Lucas Tilly and Andrew Tufenkian paired up in the closest doubles match of the day, staying toe-to-toe with their opponents but eventually falling 8-6. Sebastian Ariza and Florent Auteil combined on court two, losing 8-1, and Kylel Gillam and Joshua Legardy joined on court three and fell 8-2 to round out doubles play.

In singles, Legardy on court six was the lone Kingsmen to record a set-victory over his opponent before ultimately falling 3-6, 6-2, 10-6. Michael Sulahian was the second closest in taking a point, but fell 6-2, 6-2 on court two.

Tilly came up short on court one (6-1, 6-1), Ariza on court three (6-0, 6-0), Auteil on court four (6-0, 6-1) and Gillam on court five (6-1,6-1).

The Kingsmen look to bounce back this Friday, April 20, at Cal Tech at 3 p.m. PST.
