Kingsmen Battle Hard Verses Judges

THOUSAND OAK, Calif. — The California Lutheran men's tennis team had three singles matches go the distance, but the Kingsmen couldn't overcome Brandeis College as the Judges won the dual 8-1 Wednesday in at the Poulson Tennis Center.

The Kingsmen's (0-3) only point came in doubles play. Lucas Tilly and Michael Sulahian won 8-3 in the No. 3 spot.

The three singles' matches that were very close were in the No. 1, 3, and 6 spots. Yahn Gawrit won the first set of his match 7-6, but Jackson Kogan won the final two sets 6-4 and 10-5 and stole the match.

Dara Kashani fought hard for the Violet and Gold in the No. 3 spot. He won the first set 6-4, but lost the second and third sets 4-6 and 8-10, respectively.

Florent Auteil had his chances as well. He won the first set 6-4. He got shut out in the second set 0-6 and fell 4-6 in the third set and lost the match. The other Kingsmen lost in straight sets.

The Kinsgmen have a few days off before they're back in action. CLU hosts Bates Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Poulson Tennis Center.
