LA MIRADA, Calif. — Andreas Nybo and the relay team of Joshua Nekoba, Luke Rodarte, Keegan March and Nick Kenny earned All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) on day two of the SCIAC Championships. The Kingsmen are currently in fourth place, just one point behind Caltech.
Nybo was the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley. He snagged silver in the event as he touched the wall with one minute and 50.07 seconds.
Cal Lutheran got their second All-SCIAC honor of the day as the Kingsmen capped off the night with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Nekoba, Rodarte, March and Kenny combined to earn bronze with 1:23.39.
Kenny just missed All-SCIAC in the 50-yard free. He was in the A Final and placed fourth with 20.96.
Stephen Blaauw and Cole Weiderman both competed in the A Final of the 500-yard freestyle. Blaauw was fifth with 4:31.26 and Weiderman was right behind him in sixth with 4:33.29.
Miles Gaitan swam the 200 IM with Nybo in the A Final. Gaitan was seventh with 1:52.31.
2022 SCIAC Swimming Championship action resumes Friday morning with preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. and finals to follow at 5 p.m. Tomorrow consists of 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard butterfly.
