LA VERNE, Calif. — Andreas Nybo and Luke Rodarte both won two events to lead California Lutheran University swimming and diving against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne on Saturday afternoon. The tri-meet was hosted by La Verne.
Nybo won the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley while Rodarte claimed both breaststroke events.
Nybo's time of 1:44.67 won him the 200-yard free and he claimed the 200 IM with 1:55.82. Rodarte touched first in the 100 and 200-breast with 57.52 and 2:08.40, respectively.
The Kingsmen were the runner-up in seven events, six individual and one team. Stephen Blaauw was second in the 500-yard free with 4:41.90, Kyle Denson placed second in the 200-yard back with 56.62, Keeegan March was the runner-up in the 100-yard free with 48.79, Joshua Nekoba took second in the 50-yard free with 22.07, Nybo was the runner-up in the 200-yard fly with 1:56.67 and Cole Weiderman was second in the 1,000-yard free with 9:48.86.
Nick Kenny, Nekoba, March and Rodarte combined for second in the 200-yard free relay with 1:27.69. In the other relay, Miles Gaitan, Rodarte, Nybo and Nekoba placed third in the 200-yard medley relay with 1:36.02.
The Kingsmen continue the season on Saturday at Redlands in a tri-meet with Redlands and Whittier.
