2010-11
Set two new Cal Lutheran records at the SCIAC Championships (Feb. 20-22)
with his times of 9:58.63 in the 1000 free and 16:33.77 in the 1650 
free...swam the third leg of the 800 free relay at the same meet (Feb. 
21), setting a new program record in the process... earned All-SCIAC 
honors in the 800 free relay... fastest times recorded also include a 
23.50 in the 50 free, 52.05 in the 100 free, 1:09.18 and a 2:34.10 in 
the 100 and 200 breaststroke events at the Malibu Invitational (Oct. 
23), a 1:00.60 in the 100 fly and 2:25.94 in the 200 IM against Caltech 
(Jan. 29), a 1:45.88 in the 200 free and 4:45.81 in the 500 free at the 
SCIAC Championships (Feb. 20-22).

2009-10
Scored points in three different events at SCIAC Championships...earned 
top result of 5th in 1,650 free (16:49:13)...also took 11th in 500 free 
(4:49.88) and 12th in 200 free (1:46.40)...set school record in 100 
breast during time trials (1:01.90)....currently solo owner or member of
relay squad of nine different school records...named CLU Male Athlete 
of the Week twice (Jan. 4-10, Feb. 22-28).

2008-09
Earned top individual finish of fourth at the SCIAC Championships in the
200-yard free in school record time (1:44.58)...qualified for finals 
taking sixth in the 500-yard free (4:45.00)...winner of consolation 
finals of 100 free (47.84)...set three individual school records and 
member of two CLU school record relay teams.

Wilson High School
Four-year member of the Rams varsity swim and water polo teams...state 
champion in 50-yard free (2008) and 400-yard free relay (2006)...earned 
third place finish in 100-yard free (2008).

Full name: Jacob David Kaija...born on Aug. 25, 1989, in Tacoma, Wash...one 
of Craig and Wendy Kaija's three children...has a younger brother Zach who
is a freshman on the CLU swim team...has a younger brother Ben competes
in baseball, swimming and water polo at the HS level...family resides in 
Tacoma, Wash...currently a criminal justice major and psychology 
minor...career goal is to work in the field of law enforcement.
