SALEM, Ore. — Cal Lutheran men's soccer continued the season on the road and took on Pacific Lutheran in a neutral contest hosted by Willamette University. The Lutes gave the Kingsmen their first loss of the season by a score of 2-1.

Giovanni Torres scored the Kingsmen with the assist coming from Chris Pelaez. Torres received the ball and placed it low in the right corner.

The scoring came early. Pacific Lutheran got on the board first in the 14th minute and added a second goal less than two minutes later. Cal Lutheran cut the lead in half in the 30th minute and got back in the game.

It was all about the defenses from that point forward. Cal Lutheran recorded 12 shots while Pacific Lutheran put up 15.

Davis Sharts was in goal for the Kingsmen and was busy. Of those 15 shots, nine were on goal as Sharts made seven saves. The Purple and Gold had a tough time finding the goal as three of the 12 shots were between the posts.

The Kingsmen had their chances, but were also unfortunate as they were called offsides six times.

Cal Lutheran will look to get back in the win column on Sunday as the Kingsmen face Willamette on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
