Road Recap: MS Claws Past Panthers

ORANGE, Calif. – On the road this morning, the Cal Lutheran men's soccer team faced Chapman in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action with the Kingsmen grinding to a 2-0 victory.

Senior forward Brandon Kearney continued his assault of opposing defenses with his third goal of the season, second in as many games. The score was made possibly on an assist by Danny Pacheco, the first of his CLU career, in the 32nd minute of play against the Panthers. In the 73rd minute, Cristian Guzman notched his first career goal on an assist from Joey Arnold to double the CLU advantage.

Guarding the goal, Eduardo Garcia worked all 90 minutes in the shutout while notching three save.  Also playing the entire contest were defender Daniel Aguilar and midfielder Stevie Ray Trujillo. Overall, 21 players saw action in the game.

Cal Lutheran (3-1, 2-0 SCIAC) heads out on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 13 to face Redlands at 7:00 p.m. as SCIAC action continues.
