Kingsmen Fall to Sagehens

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer's Daniel Rosenbaum scored 26 points and Micah Elan added 22 more as the Sagehens defeated the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen 93-62 Saturday in Gilbert Arena.

Rosenbaum added 10 rebounds as he tallied a double-double. Elan was two rebounds shy of a triple-double as he recorded 11 assists and eight rebounds.

Kyle Ferreira scored a team-high 14 points. Austin Cole was next with nine. Cole Thomas came off the bench for eight points. KJ Moffett and Palmer Chaplin scored seven and six, respectively.

Pomona-Pitzer (11-11, 9-4 SCIAC) shot 50-percent from the field and 45-percent from three-point range. As a team, the Sagehens tallied 46 rebounds and 28 assists.

The Kingsmen (7-14, 4-9 SCIAC) had a cold-shooting day as they were 41-percent from the field and 32-percent from three-point range.  Cal Lutheran had 24 rebounds and 14 assists.

Pomona-Pitzer was hot right from the start and took a 15-2 lead. The Kingsmen bounced back and cut the lead to 23-12 after a three from Chaplin. The Sagehens kept the offense going and had a 54-30 lead at the half. The Sagehens didn't let up in the second and ran away with the game as they took down the Kingsmen 93-62.

The Kingsmen continue their home stand and host Caltech Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Gilbert Arena.
