Pulley Earns National Recognition at Linebacker

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran linebacker Ethan Pulley was named to the D3football.com Team of the week which was announced Tuesday morning.

This is the 21st season that D3football.com has selected the Team of the Week, which honors the top player nationally at each position from the previous week.

"Ethan has played at an All-American level since last season," said Head Coach Ben McEnroe. "It's great for him to be recognized for that, and I expect him to be in contention for more accolades all season. One thing that can't really be measured is his leadership on this team, and it's very rewarding to see a young man that is so invested in a team play at such a high individual level. Very proud and happy for him."

The senior earned his first D3football.com Team of the Week honor as the Kingsmen defeated Pacific 45-28. Last year, Pulley was a two-time SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week and a First Team All-SCIAC honoree.

Pulley helped the Kingsnen defense shutout Pacific in the first half, holding them to 85 yards, thanks in large part to three sacks by the captain. He had six tackles on the evening, with three and a half tackles for loss.

The Kingsmen are back in action on Saturday as Cal Lutheran welcomes UW-Stout to William Rolland Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
