Anderson, Antezana Earn Athlete of the Week Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– This afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Week 4 Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran football's Chris Anderson was named the Offensive Athlete of the Week, while Christian Antezana claimed Specialist of the Week.

A senior running back, Anderson kept the Cal Lutheran offense moving against a top-25 defense in Wisconsin-Stout. He had a tremendous performance on the ground as he racked up a season-high 127 yards and a touchdown.

A native of Hemet., Calif., Anderson averaged 5.3 yards per carry. His long of the day was 38 yards. He ran for the lone rushing touchdown as the Kingsmen fell to UW-Stout 49-24.

Despite the setback to UW-Stout, junior kicker Antezana delivered the first points of the game. He connected for a career-long 48-yard field goal with 1:57 to play in the first quarter to cap a seven-play, 49-yard drive.

Hailing from Lafayette, Calif., Antezana was also a perfect 3-for-3 on extra point attempts, and amassed 306 yards on five kickoffs (61.2 yards per kick).

The SCIAC Athlete of the Week series is released each Monday throughout the academic year.
