Pulley Earns SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– This afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Week 2 Athlete of the Week honorees and Kingsmen football linebacker Ethan Pulley was selected as the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Pulley helped lead the Cal Lutheran defense to a dominating performance as the Kingsmen knocked off Pacific Lutheran 24-8 on Saturday. 

In the third quarter, Pulley put his mark on the game as he intercepted a pass and ran 65-yards the other way for a touchdown. The score put the Kingsmen up 24-8 with 2:18 left in the third quarter.

On top of the pick-six, Pulley recorded 11 total tackles, four of which were solo. He also had a tackle for loss. Cal Lutheran's run-defense was on point and held PLU to 52 total yards. The Kinsgmen forced five fumbles, three of which were recovered by the Violet and Gold.  

The SCIAC Athlete of the Week series is released each Monday throughout the academic year.
