REDLANDS, Calif. — California Lutheran University track and field members Cooper Curtin and Zaria Opara competed at the Redlands Final Qualifier on Thursday afternoon.
This week is full of last chance meets as athletes try and qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. The top 20 marks for the men and 22 for women receive invitations to the championships.
Opara competed in the hammer throw and had a heave of 51.01 meters. She improved on her all-time mark, which is the second-longest in program history. She won the event as and currently sits 27th in the nation.
Curtin was in the pole vault and paced fourth. He cleared 4.60 meters and is the 22nd spot.
This was the last meet of the season for the Kingsmen and Regals. The NCAA Championships are May 26-28.
