Sunday: 8:15 am – 9:45 am

Monday: 5:30 am – 6:30 am & 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Tuesday: 5:30 am – 6:45 am, 12:00pm - 1:00pm, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Wednesday: CLOSED in A.M. for cleaning & 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Thursday: 5:30 am – 6:45 am, 12:00pm - 1:00pm, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Friday: 5:30 am – 6:30 am & 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Saturday: CLOSED

U.S. Masters Swimming

 

General Information:

Open to adults with all levels of swim experience, Cal Lutheran Masters will operate as the exclusive adult swim training group to utilize and train in the beautiful Olympic-size Samuelson Aquatic Center on the campus of California Lutheran University. Whether you are interested in training for a swim meet, open water competition, triathlon, improving your technique, or simply swimming for health and fitness, this is the perfect program for you. Team training will be coached by experienced coaches who will offer challenging and interesting workouts designed around technical improvement in a fun, social environment.

Hayley Blaauw

Cal Lutheran Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Assistant Coach

Blaauw is a 2019 graduate from Queens University of Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences graduating Magna Cum Laude. She swam for the Royals, helping them achieve four of the last five National Titles for NCAA Division 2 Swimming. During her time as a Royal, she was a captain of the team for her junior and senior years and was awarded All-American for the 400 IM, 500 and 1000 freestyle, and All-Conference in the 200 Breaststroke, 400 IM, and 1000 Freestyle. Blaauw graduated from Thousand Oaks High School, earning a four-year varsity letter for the swim team and continues to have the 100 Breaststroke record for the Lancers. She is excited to be a part of the CLU Swim and Dive Program. 

 

Mark Hontas

Cal Lutheran Masters Swimming Head Coach

In Masters Swimming, Hontas is a Level 2 US Masters Swimming Coach. He has achieved national top times in the 200 butterfly (2009-11) and two national top 10 times in the one hour postal swim (2010-11). He was the 1983 Greek National Champion in the 400 IM and took second place in the 200 fly. In 1984, he was part of the Greek National Championship team for the 400 IM (butterfly leg). He also placed second in the 400 IM and the 200 fly. In 1983-84, he competed at the Balkan Games in Rijeka, Yugoslavia, was placed second in the 400 IM in one year and was a 400 IM finalist another year. From 1982-86, he was on a full ride scholarship to the Ohio State University. He sawm the 200 butterfly and the 400 IM and was a Big Ten finalist in both events all four years. He grew up in Chesterland, Ohio, where he was a four-year high school All-American and senior co-captain at Hawken School. From his childhood years, his 200-meter fly age group record from 1977 still stands.
