Olivia Leyva had a breakout weekend for the softball team, leading the Regals to their first two wins of the season with a sweep over No. 23 Redlands. The freshman from La Caņada, Calif. went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored in the opening 11-10 win over the Bulldogs and she continued her hot hitting going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored in a 12-4, five inning, win to complete the sweep. On Saturday afternoon, Leyva had a hit and the lone RBI for CLU in a loss to Chapman. In three games over the weekend she finished 6-for-9 with five RBIs, four runs scored and a walk to push her season average to .421. Defensively, she manned the outfield grass, coming up with a putout in the first game against UR.
