Sheyenne Machida, Swimming & Diving

In her final SCIAC Championship, Sheyenne Machida had a weekend to remember, setting two new school records and becoming the first Regals diver to qualify to compete at the NCAA Division III Women's Diving Regionals. Machida opened the weekend on the one-meter board where she nearly missed the NCAA cut of 395.00, scoring a 394.60, four tenths of a point away from punching a ticket. She came back on Friday evening to surpass that mark, scoring a CLU record 453.95 to earn All-SCIAC recognition. On Sunday in three-meter finals, she again qualified to compete in Iowa (Grinnell College) Feb. 28-Mar. 1 after tallying a 411.65 to break a 10-year old CLU record and putting her name in the record books for all four marks. She was a two-time All-SCIAC recipient this weekend.
