Byron Minnich tossed a complete game four-hitter during a 3-1 victory over Whittier to open the weekend series. The effort and win were both special as it was the 500th victory in the career of CLU Head Coach Marty Slimak.

Minnich struck out nine batters and allowed one unearned run to cross the plate in delivering his second win of the season. Cal Lutheran went on to complete a weekend sweep of Whittier and is currently tied atop the SCIAC standings with its 7-2 conference record.
